Section 163 issued around examination centres for smooth conduct of combined competitive (preliminary) examination in Cachar

way2barak, July 3:— The Cachar District Administration has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, around three examination centres in Silchar ahead of the Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2025, scheduled to be held on July 5.

 

The order, issued by District Magistrate Rahul Kumar Gupta, IAS,to ensure a peaceful, secure and fair examination environment by preventing any activity that could disrupt the conduct of the examination or facilitate the use of unfair means.

 

According to the notification, the prohibitory order will remain in force on the day of the examination at the three designated centres Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Silchar, Government Girls’ Higher Secondary & M.P. School, Silchar and D.N.N.K. Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Silchar.

 

As per the order, only candidates appearing for the examination and officials engaged in conducting and supervising the examination will be allowed to enter or remain within a radius of 100 metres of the examination centres. The administration has appealed to the general public to cooperate with the restrictions so that the examination can be conducted without interruption.

 

The order also prohibits candidates and others from carrying any items barred under the examination guidelines, including mobile phones, electronic gadgets and any other material that could be used for unfair practices inside the examination halls or rooms. Officials have been instructed to enforce the guidelines strictly throughout the examination period.

 

The District Magistrate stated that the restrictions had become necessary in view of the possibility of attempts by unscrupulous elements to interfere with the examination process. The administration has warned that anyone found violating the prohibitory order or examination guidelines will face legal action under the relevant provisions of law.

 

The district administration has urged candidates to reach their respective examination centres well in advance, carry only permitted documents and materials, and strictly follow the instructions issued by the examination authorities. Parents, guardians and members of the public have also been requested to extend full cooperation by avoiding unnecessary gatherings near the examination venues.

 

The order came into effect immediately upon its issuance on July 3 and will remain operational throughout the examination process on July 5.
