35 KG Ganja recovered at Digorkhal Check Point

way2barak, September 14 : Based on specific source information, one vehicle bearing Registration No. AS 01 QC 4152 was intercepted at Digorkhal Check Point, Assam-Meghalaya Border.

On thorough search of the vehicle, 379 packets of suspected Ganja, weighing a total of 35.159 kg, were recovered. The suspected Ganja was found concealed inside courier parcel cartons, and upon opening the cartons, the Ganja packets were found packed in polythene packets resembling tea packets.

One person, namely Arup Kalita, resident of Nalbari, was apprehended in connection with the recovery. SSP Cachar Partha Pratim Das said, further investigation is underway.
