Sattriya and Hindustani Music Enthrall Audience at Assam University
আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ভারতীয় শাস্ত্রীয় সঙ্গীত ও নৃত্যের মনোমুগ্ধকর সন্ধ্যা

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১৪ সেপ্টেম্বর : ভারতীয় শাস্ত্রীয় সঙ্গীত ও নৃত্যের মনোমুগ্ধকর পরিবেশনায় মুগ্ধ হল আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। রবিবার সন্ধ্যায় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিপিনচন্দ্র পাল অডিটোরিয়ামে হেরিটেজ ক্লাবের উদ্যোগে স্পিকম্যাকে, শিক্ষা মন্ত্রক ও এসআরএফ ফাউন্ডেশনের সহযোগিতায় আয়োজিত হয় ভারতীয় শাস্ত্রীয় সঙ্গীত ও নৃত্যের বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠান। দর্শকাসন পূর্ণ ছিল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রছাত্রী, শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকা ও সঙ্গীতপ্রেমীদের উপস্থিতিতে।

অনুষ্ঠানের শুরুতে হেরিটেজ ক্লাবের ফ্যাকাল্টি সুপারভাইজার অধ্যাপক তরুণ বিকাশ সুকাই স্বাগত ভাষণ দেন এবং শ্রোতাদর্শকদের সঙ্গে শিল্পীদের পরিচয় করিয়ে দেন। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন রোজকান্দি চা বাগানের জেনারেল ম্যানেজার আইবি উবাদিয়া। তিনি মঞ্চে অতিথি শিল্পীদের সংবর্ধিত করেন।

অনুষ্ঠানের প্রথম পর্বে বিশিষ্ট নৃত্যশিল্পী ড. মীরানন্দা বরঠাকুর সত্রীয়া নৃত্য পরিবেশন করেন। তাঁকে সহযোগিতা করেন গৌতম বায়ান, দ্বীপেন্দু শর্মা ও বিশ্বজিৎ বরদলৈ। নৃত্য পরিবেশনের পাশাপাশি ড. বরঠাকুর সত্রীয়া নৃত্যের শিকড় এবং এর প্রবর্তক মহাপুরুষ শ্রীমন্ত শঙ্করদেবের অবদান সম্পর্কেও দর্শকদের অবহিত করেন।

এরপর হিন্দুস্তানি শাস্ত্রীয় সঙ্গীত পরিবেশন করেন পণ্ডিত অর্ণব চট্টোপাধ্যায়। তবলায় ছিলেন বিশিষ্ট শিল্পী সুধীর কুমার ঘোড়াই এবং হারমোনিয়ামে সঙ্গত করেন সন্দীপ ভট্টাচার্য। তাঁদের মনোমুগ্ধকর পরিবেশনা উপস্থিত দর্শকদের বিশেষভাবে মুগ্ধ করে। শিল্পীদের অসাধারণ পরিবেশনায় অনুষ্ঠানটি হয়ে ওঠে এক স্মরণীয় সাংস্কৃতিক সন্ধ্যা। শেষে ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করেন অধ্যাপক সুকাই।

Way2barak, September 14 : Assam University witnessed a captivating evening of Indian classical music and dance on Sunday as the Heritage Club of the university, in collaboration with SPICMACAY, the Ministry of Education, and the SRF Foundation, organised a special cultural programme at the Bipin Chandra Pal Auditorium. The event drew a full-house audience comprising students, faculty members and music enthusiasts.
The programme began with a welcome address by Prof. Tarun Bikash Sukai, Faculty Supervisor of the Heritage Club, who also introduced the artistes to the audience. Shri I. B. Ubadhia, General Manager of Rosekandy Tea Estate and Professor of Practice (PoP) at Assam University, attended the programme as the Chief Guest and felicitated the artistes on stage.

The first segment featured a mesmerising Sattriya dance recital by YSNA Top Grade Sattriya danseuse Dr. Meernanda Borthakur, accompanied by Shri Gautam Bayan, Shri Dwipendu Sharma and Shri Biswajit Bordoloi. Through her performance, Dr. Borthakur also highlighted the indigenous roots of Sattriya and the contribution of its founder, Srimanta Sankardev.

This was followed by a captivating Hindustani classical vocal recital by Pandit Arnab Chatterjee. He was accompanied by noted tabla artiste Shri Sudhir Kumar Ghorai, while Shri Sandeep Bhattacharjee provided harmonium accompaniment. Their performances were warmly received by the audience.

The artistes’ outstanding performances turned the programme into a memorable cultural evening, celebrating the richness and diversity of India’s classical traditions. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Tarun Bikash Sukai, who expressed gratitude to the artistes, collaborating organisations, organisers and the audience for making the event a success.
