Retired teacher of Public HS School Purnendu Bhattacharjee passes away

Dec 5: Purnendu Kumar Bhattacharjee, retired teacher of Public Higher Secondary School, Silchar breathed his last at 4.40 AM on Sunday due to old age related issues. He was 86. Since the last few days, he was unwell and was admitted in a private hospital at Silchar. As his condition improved, he was brought at his home at Public School Road where he expired on Sunday morning.

As soon as the news of his death spread, people started to come to his house in large numbers to pay their last homage to this veteran teacher.  His body was also brought to Public HS School before taking to crematorium, where the Principal and teachers of the school offered floral tribute.

Purnendu Bhattacharjee is survived by his son Prosenjit Bhattacharjee, who is also a teacher of Public HS School and a daughter who is now married. The death of Purnendu Sir, as he was popularly called has been mourned by many.
