Various Programmes to Mark Language Martyrs’ Day at Assam University
আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ভাষা শহিদ দিবসে বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচি

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১৮ মে : আগামী ১৯ মে ভাষা শহিদ দিবস উপলক্ষে বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করেছে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃপক্ষ। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ভাষা শহিদ দিবস আয়োজক সমিতির পক্ষ থেকে প্রকাশিত এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানানো হয়েছে, দিনটি যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদায় পালনের লক্ষ্যে শিক্ষক-শিক্ষার্থী, কর্মচারী ও ছাত্রছাত্রীদের উপস্থিত থাকার আহ্বান জানানো হয়েছে।

ঘোষিত কর্মসূচি অনুযায়ী, সকাল ১১টায় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রবেশদ্বারের পাশে অবস্থিত ভাষা শহিদ মিনারে শ্রদ্ধাজ্ঞাপন করা হবে। এরপর সকাল ১১টা ১৫ মিনিটে বাংলা বিভাগের সামনে অবস্থিত ভাষা শহিদ বেদিতে শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করা হবে।
এছাড়া সকাল ১১টা ৩০ মিনিটে সংস্কৃত বিভাগের পাশে স্বপ্না দেবী স্মৃতি সদনে এক সভা ও সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করবেন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ। প্রধান বক্তা হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকবেন কাছাড় কলেজের অর্থনীতির বিশিষ্ট অধ্যাপক ড. জয়দীপ বিশ্বাস।

ভাষা শহিদ দিবস আয়োজক সমিতির পক্ষ থেকে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পরিবারের সকল সদস্য সহ সংশ্লিষ্ট সবাইকে অনুষ্ঠানে অংশগ্রহণের আহ্বান জানানো হয়েছে।

Way2barak, May 18 : The authorities of Assam University have organised a series of programmes to observe Language Martyrs’ Day on May 19. According to a notification issued by the university’s Language Martyrs’ Day Organising Committee, teachers, students, employees and members of the university community have been requested to attend the events to mark the occasion with due respect and solemnity.

As per the scheduled programme, tributes will be paid at 11 am at the Language Martyrs’ Memorial located near the university entrance gate. This will be followed by another floral tribute ceremony at 11:15 am at the Language Martyrs’ altar situated in front of the Department of Bengali.

In addition, a meeting and cultural programme will be held at 11:30 am at Swapna Devi Memorial Hall beside the Department of Sanskrit. The event will be chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of Assam University, Professor Rajib Mohan Pant. Eminent economist Dr. Joydeep Biswas of Cachar College will attend the programme as the chief speaker.

The Language Martyrs’ Day Organising Committee has appealed to all members of the university fraternity and concerned individuals to participate in the observance.
