Col. Chamoli Stresses Yoga's Role in Holistic Development at NCC Camp

Way2barak, May 18 : Yoga is indispensable for the holistic development of an individual, stated Colonel Sourav Chamoli, the Commanding Officer of the 3-Assam Battalion NCC, Silchar. He shared these views while addressing NCC cadets following a yoga education workshop organized by the Silchar Niramaya School of Yoga Education at the ongoing NCC camp. Emphasizing the importance of regular yoga practice, Colonel Chamoli noted that the session was highly beneficial for the overall growth of the participants.
The special yoga session was conducted on Sunday morning by the Silchar Niramaya School of Yoga Education at the annual training camp of the 3-Assam Battalion NCC, held on the premises of the Pailapool Navodaya Vidyalaya campus. Over 500 cadets, along with top military officers, actively participated in the program. Yogacharya Rahul, the legacy person and chief coordinator of the Niramoy School of Yoga Education, and Director Satakshi Bhattacharjee led the session as resource persons.
The event was organized as part of the ongoing “Yoga Chetana Mahotsav” (Yoga Consciousness Festival) initiated by Silchar Niramaya School of Yoga Education in the run-up to the 12th International Day of Yoga. The festival is being held in collaboration with the Institute for Yoga Education Research and Holistic Sciences, a member institution of the Indian Yoga Association.
Speaking on the occasion, Colonel Sourav Chamoli praised the initiative and stated that the 3-Assam Battalion NCC has been collaborating with the Niramaya School of Yoga Education for several years to promote yoga through various programs. He observed that both cadets and officers participated in Sunday’s event with great enthusiasm. The resource persons and officials of the institution demonstrated various yoga postures and techniques in a very simplified manner, while also explaining the underlying rules and discipline. Colonel Chamoli added that the cadets gained valuable learning experiences from the festival, while the officers practiced the routines with deep concentration. He expressed hope that the NCC would organize more such events in the future and that both Niramaya and the Institute for Yoga Education Research and Holistic Sciences would continue to support the welfare of the cadets.
The program was also attended by NCC officials SM DR Adhikari and Dr. Pinki Sharma, among others. To mark the occasion, representatives from Niramaya presented a Yoga Mahotsav memento to the 3-Assam NCC, which was formally accepted by CO Colonel Chamoli.
