Two-Day Hands-on Workshop on “Flow Cytometry” Concludes at Assam University
আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে “ফ্লো সাইটোমেট্রি” বিষয়ক দুই দিনের হাতে-কলমে কর্মশালা সম্পন্ন

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ২২ মে : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের লাইফ সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড বায়োইনফরমেটিক্স বিভাগের উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত হল দুদিনের “ফ্লো সাইটোমেট্রি” বিষয়ক প্রশিক্ষণ তথা কর্মশালা। ২১ ও ২২ মে বিভাগীয় কনফারেন্স হলে আয়োজিত এই প্রশিক্ষণ তথা কর্মশালায় গবেষক, শিক্ষার্থী ও নবীন বিজ্ঞানীদের ফ্লো সাইটোমেট্রির তাত্ত্বিক জ্ঞানের পাশাপাশি ব্যবহারিক প্রশিক্ষণ প্রদান করা হয়। কর্মশালার আহ্বায়ক ছিলেন অধ্যাপিকা সর্বানী গিরি ও সহ-আহ্বায়কের দায়িত্ব পালন করেন অধ্যাপক অনিরুদ্ধ গিরি।

বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে এই প্রশিক্ষণ তথা কর্মশালার আনুষ্ঠানিক উদ্বোধন করেন উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ। সঙ্গে ছিলেন হরগোবিন্দ খুরানা স্কুল অব লাইফ সায়েন্সেসের ডিন অধ্যাপক প্রণব বিহারী মজুমদার। এই কর্মশালায় বিভিন্ন শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের গবেষক ও শিক্ষার্থীরা অংশ নেন। এতে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক পন্থ বলেন, আধুনিক জীববিজ্ঞান গবেষণায় ব্যবহারিক জ্ঞান ও উন্নত প্রযুক্তিনির্ভর প্রশিক্ষণ শিক্ষার্থী ও গবেষকদের দক্ষতা বৃদ্ধিতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করবে। তিনি এই কর্মশালা আয়োজনের জন্য উদ্যোক্তাদের আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদও জানান।

কর্মশালায় ফ্লো সাইটোমেট্রির মৌলিক ধারণা, নমুনা প্রস্তুতি, রঞ্জন পদ্ধতি, তথ্য সংগ্রহ এবং বিশ্লেষণ নিয়ে বিশদ আলোচনা করা হয়। পাশাপাশি অংশগ্রহণকারীদের হাতে-কলমে ব্যবহারিক প্রশিক্ষণও প্রদান করা হয়। কর্মশালায় রিসোর্স পার্সন হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রাণীবিদ্যা বিভাগের অধ্যাপক উর্মি চ্যাটার্জি, আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বায়োটেকনোলজি বিভাগের প্রধান অধ্যাপক মহুয়া সেনগুপ্ত, জয়পুরের ফ্লো সাইটোমেট্রি সলিউশন প্রাইভেট লিমিটেডের সহ-প্রতিষ্ঠাতা ও পরিচালক ড. হেমন্ত আগরওয়াল, গুয়াহাটির রয়াল গ্লোবাল ইউনিভার্সিটির প্রাণীবিদ্যা বিভাগের ড. ধর্মেশ্বর বারই, কলকাতার বেক্টন ডিকিনসন ইন্ডিয়ার সার্ভিস ম্যানেজার বিশ্বজিৎ দত্ত প্রমুখ।

সংশ্লিষ্ট বিষয়ে বিশেষজ্ঞ রিসোর্স পার্সনদের বক্তব্য ও ব্যবহারিক প্রশিক্ষণ অংশগ্রহণকারীদের আধুনিক গবেষণা প্রযুক্তি সম্পর্কে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ জ্ঞান ও দক্ষতা অর্জনে সহায়তা করে। শেষে আয়োজক কমিটির পক্ষ থেকে সকল অংশগ্রহণকারী, রিসোর্স পার্সন, শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকা এবং সহযোগী কর্মীদের প্রতি আন্তরিক কৃতজ্ঞতা জ্ঞাপন করা হয়। আয়োজকদের মতে, এই কর্মশালা গবেষণা ও আধুনিক জীববিজ্ঞানের ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহারিক জ্ঞান বৃদ্ধির এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অ্যাকাডেমিক মঞ্চ হিসেবে আত্মপ্রকাশ করে।

Way2barak, May 22 : A two-day training workshop on “Flow Cytometry” was organised by the Department of Life Science and Bioinformatics at Assam University. The workshop, held on May 21 and 22 at the departmental conference hall, provided researchers, students, and young scientists with both theoretical knowledge and practical training in flow cytometry. The workshop was convened by Prof. Sarbani Giri, while Prof. Aniruddha Giri served as the co-convener.

The workshop was formally inaugurated on Thursday morning by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant in the presence of Prof. Pranab Bihari Mazumdar, Dean of the Hargobind Khurana School of Life Sciences, Prof. Meenakshi Bawari, HOD, Life Science & Bioinformatics. Researchers and students from various educational institutions participated in the programme. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Pant said that practical knowledge and advanced technology-driven training in modern biological research would play a crucial role in enhancing the skills of students and researchers. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the organisers for conducting the workshop.

During the workshop, detailed discussions were held on the fundamentals of flow cytometry, sample preparation, staining techniques, data acquisition, and analysis. Participants were also given hands-on practical training. Resource persons at the workshop included Prof. Urmi Chatterjee from the Dept of Zoology, University of Calcutta; Prof. Mahua Sengupta, Head of the Department of Biotechnology at Assam University; Dr. Hemant Agarwal, Co-founder and Director of Flow Cytometry Solution Private Limited; Dr. Dharmeswar Baroi from the Department of Zoology at Royal Global University; and Biswajit Dutta, Service Manager at Becton Dickinson India, among others.

The expert lectures and practical sessions conducted by the resource persons helped participants gain valuable knowledge and skills related to modern research technologies. At the end of the workshop, the organising committee expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, resource persons, faculty members, and support staff. According to the organisers, the workshop emerged as an important academic platform for enhancing practical knowledge in research and modern biological sciences.
