Higher Secondary results announced

way2barak April 28: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has released the Class 12 or HS 2026 exam results for all streams – science, arts, commerce and vocational today. This year, the Science stream recorded the highest pass percentage at 89.79%, followed by Commerce at 81.13% and Arts at 79.54%. Three districts achieved a pass percentage of 100 per cent in the Vocational stream, namely, Biswanath, Majuli and Sivasagar. Darrang district recorded a passs rate of 97.85 per cent. In the Commerce stream, both Majuli and South Salmara-Mankachar recorded a pass rate of 100 per cent with 23 and 12 students appearing for the exams from the respective districts.

Baksa emerged as the top-performing district in the Arts stream with a pass percentage of 94.29 per cent. Next in the list were Darrang and Lakhimpur with a pass rate of 92.99 per cent and 90.35 per cent respectively.

In the Science stream Tamulpur district achieved the highest pass percecntage of 98.39 per cent. West Karbi Anglong closely followed with 98.36 per cent. Next in the list was Baksa district at 97.96 per cent.

Last year as many as 3,02,420 students had registered for their Assam board HS exams in science, arts, commerce, and vocational streams. 81.03 per cent of students passed in the arts stream, 84.88 per cent in science, and 82.18 per cent in the commerce stream.

Although the Assam board Class 12th result marksheets have been made available online, the date for providing a hard copy of the certificate cum marksheet for the passed candidates will be notified in due course of time, the board said while announcing the Assam board Class 10 result 2026 date.

Candidates whose result has been withheld will need to apply formally via the Head of their Institution to the Controller of Examinations in order to get their results declared. Since the result was declared today, students have a 30 day window till 28 May, 2026 to apply for the same.

As many as 913 students were absent in the science exams. 37 students were also expelled. A total of five students have been expelled in commerce. Also, 354 students were absent. No student was withheld in commerce. In the Arts stream this year, as many as 148 students are expelled and one student is withheld. 6,766 students were absent from taking the exams.
