Assistant Commissioner Arunabh Choudhury assumes charge as In-Charge Deputy Director of I&PR, Barak Valley

way2barak, May 22:— In a significant administrative development, Arunabh Choudhury, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, Cachar, formally assumed charge as the In-Charge Deputy Director of Information & Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone, Silchar on Wednesday. He took over the responsibility following the posting of Lucky Biswas as Public Relations Officer to the Hon’ble Governor of Assam.

It is worth mentioning that Arunabh Choudhury, an ACS officer of the 2021 batch, had earlier served in Jorhat and Nagaon districts prior to his posting in Cachar district. During his tenure in Nagaon, he efficiently handled multiple important responsibilities including In-Charge District Information & Public Relations Officer (DIPRO), Deputy Registrar, Deputy Director of Supplies and Jail Superintendent etc.

Meanwhile, to mark the occasion, a cordial felicitation programme was organised at the Regional Office of Information & Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone, Silchar, where officials and staff members extended a warm welcome to Arunabh Choudhury during his visit to the office. In a gesture reflecting the rich cultural traditions of Assam, he was felicitated with a traditional “Uttorio” by UDA ,Manimoy Dey. A commemorative gift was also presented to him as a token of respect and goodwill.

On the occasion, all the officials and the staff members assured the newly appointed In-Charge Deputy Director of their wholehearted cooperation, sincerity and dedication in discharging their respective responsibilities under his guidance and supervision.

Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Cachar -cum -Incharge DDIPR Barak valley Zone Silchar, Arunabh Choudhury expressed his gratitude for the warm reception accorded to him by the officers and employees of the department. In his brief yet inspiring address, he emphasised the importance of teamwork, discipline and public-oriented communication in strengthening the role of the Information & Public Relations Department.

“Information & Public Relations plays a crucial role in bridging the Government and the people. I believe in collective effort, mutual respect and sincere dedication towards public service. Together, we will work with commitment and coordination to uphold the dignity and responsibilities of the department while ensuring effective dissemination of government initiatives and welfare activities among the people,” he said.

The programme concluded on a cordial note with staff members reiterating their commitment to maintaining professionalism and efficiency in the functioning of the department under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner cum incharge DDIPR,BVR Zone Silchar, Arunabh Choudhury ACS.
