Budget 2022: What becomes cheaper & costlier?

Feb. 1:Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday present the Budget for the year 2022-23 in the Parliament. A host of changes in custom duty has been announced which will effectively raise or bring down the prices of some essential commodities. Cut and polished diamonds and gemstones will become cheaper. Also, leather goods, clothes, steel scraps,mobile phones,mobile phone chargers and chemicals used for petroleum products will also get cheaper.

Due to a hike in customs duties on imported parts, several commonly used items will become more expensive. Some such items include umbrellas, imitation jewellery, single or multiple loudspeakers, headphones and earphones, smart meters, solar modules, X-ray machines and parts of electronic toys.
