Microsoft launches coronavirus tracking website, click for current data

March 16: In order to track COVID-19 data Microsoft has now come up with a new tool. On Monday, software giant Microsoft launched a web portal dedicated to tracking coronavirus infections worldwide with “up-to-date infection statistics” for each country.

Built by Microsoft’s Bing Team that worked from home, the portal aggregates data from sources like WHO and US Centres for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC). The site lists the number of active, fatal, as well as recovered COVID-19 cases. More than 1,700 engineers are currently working on the site.

The website accessible at bing.com/covid provides up-to-date infection statistics for each country. An interactive map allows site visitors to click on the country to see the specific number of cases and related articles from a variety of publishers.

The COVID-19 Tracker currently lists 181,493 as total confirmed cases, 96,090 active cases, 72,298 recovered cases and 7,114 deaths. As per the website, total number of confirmed cases in India stands at 110 with 13 recovered cases and 2 fatal cases.
