Assam University Urges Students to Beware of Admission Fraud

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১০ জুলাই : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তি প্রক্রিয়াকে কেন্দ্র করে সামাজিক মাধ্যমে ছড়িয়ে পড়া বিভ্রান্তিকর প্রচার এবং কিছু অভিযোগের প্রেক্ষিতে শিক্ষার্থী ও অভিভাবকদের সতর্ক থাকার আহ্বান জানিয়েছে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃপক্ষ। নিবন্ধক ড. প্রদোষ কিরণ নাথ স্বাক্ষরিত এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানানো হয়েছে, বিষয়টি খতিয়ে দেখতে ইতিমধ্যেই একটি তদন্ত কমিটি গঠন করা হয়েছে।

বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এও বলা হয়েছে, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিভিন্ন বিভাগে ভর্তির নামে কিছু অসাধু ব্যক্তি নিজেদের প্রভাব খাটানোর দাবি করে অর্থ আদায়ের চেষ্টা করছে। এ ধরনের ব্যক্তি বা গোষ্ঠীর সঙ্গে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ভর্তি প্রক্রিয়ার কোনও সম্পর্ক নেই। তাই ভর্তি হতে ইচ্ছুক ছাত্রছাত্রী ও তাদের অভিভাবকদের এ ধরনের প্রলোভন, ফোনকল বা আশ্বাসে বিভ্রান্ত না হওয়ার জন্য বিশেষভাবে অনুরোধ করা হয়েছে।

নিবন্ধক ড. নাথ জানিয়েছেন, প্রতিটি বিভাগের বিভাগীয় ভর্তি কমিটি, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কেন্দ্রীয় ভর্তি কমিটির তত্ত্বাবধানে সরকারি নির্দেশিকা ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের নির্ধারিত বিধি মেনেই সম্পূর্ণ স্বচ্ছ ও নিরপেক্ষভাবে ভর্তি প্রক্রিয়া সম্পন্ন করে। একাধিক স্তরে যাচাই-বাছাই, অনুমোদন ও মূল্যায়নের মাধ্যমে মেধার ভিত্তিতে ভর্তি সম্পন্ন হয়। সিইউইটি অথবা সংশ্লিষ্ট ভর্তি পরীক্ষার প্রাপ্ত নম্বরের ভিত্তিতেই মেধাতালিকা প্রকাশ করা হয়। ফলে ভর্তি প্রক্রিয়ায় কোনও ধরনের স্বেচ্ছাচারিতা বা হস্তক্ষেপের সুযোগ নেই।

একই সঙ্গে তিনি স্পষ্ট করেছেন, ভর্তি বা প্রশাসনিক কাজে দুর্নীতি, অনিয়ম কিংবা আইনভঙ্গের সঙ্গে কেউ জড়িত থাকার প্রমাণ মিললে, তিনি যে পদ বা পরিচয়েরই হোন না কেন, প্রচলিত আইন অনুযায়ী কঠোর ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হবে।

Way2barak, July 10 : In the wake of misleading campaigns circulating on social media and certain complaints related to the ongoing admission process, Assam University has urged students and parents to remain vigilant against fraudulent claims. In an official notification issued by Registrar Dr. Pradosh Kiran Nath, the University stated that an inquiry committee has already been constituted to investigate the matter.

The notification further said that some unscrupulous individuals are allegedly attempting to collect money from admission seekers by falsely claiming that they can influence admissions to various academic departments. The University has categorically clarified that such individuals or groups have no connection whatsoever with its admission process. Students and their parents have therefore been advised not to be misled by such offers, phone calls, or false assurances.

Registrar Dr. Nath stated that admissions to all departments are conducted by the respective Departmental Admission Committees under the supervision of the University’s Central Admission Committee, strictly in accordance with Government guidelines and the University’s prescribed regulations. The entire process is carried out in a transparent, fair, and merit-based manner through multiple levels of scrutiny, verification, and approval. Merit lists are prepared solely on the basis of scores obtained in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) or the relevant admission examination, leaving no scope for arbitrary decisions or external interference.

The Registrar also made it clear that if anyone is found to be involved in corruption, irregularities, or violations of the law in connection with the admission process or any administrative matter, strict action will be taken under the applicable laws, irrespective of the person’s position or identity.
