Students of Hailakandi take part in online competitions on Ambedkar Jayanti, Rongali Bihu

April 15: Amid Coronavirus lockdown, school students of Hailakandi district took part in various competitions on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti and Rongali Bihu through ICT enabled Distance Learning Program (DLP) on Tuesday. Inspector of Schools, Rajiv Kumar Jha disclosed that students of 62 secondary and higher secondary schools and 36 pre-senior madrassas participated in different competitions from the confines of their homes through ICT-based distance learning.

On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, students participated in a host of activities by reading out the Preamble to the Constitution of India, penning slogan on the topic ‘Freedom, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity’, online quiz related to the Constitution, writing essay on the topic ‘Importance of Indian Constitution’ and letter writing on ‘Fundamental Duties’.

Painting competition on the themes ‘natural scenery’ and ‘Rongali Bihu’ was held for the students of elementary and secondary levels. Jha has asked the head of institutions to increase coverage of online teaching through ICT enabled distance learning program during the lockdown period and to maintain record of assignments undertaken for students class-wise and teacher-wise on a daily basis.
