2nd phase training of Master Trainers for ensuing assembly election begins in Cachar

Feb. 15: The second phase of training for the Assembly Level Master Trainers (ALMT) for imparting training to the polling personnel and organising EVM awareness programme in connection with forthcoming Assembly Election in Assam began on Monday in Cachar district. The 2nd phase of the training session will continue for 4 days till Friday. A total of 148 ALMTs will be trained in these four days. Training is imparted to them at Gandhi Bhavan, Silchar in small groups consisting of around 36 trainees on each day.

The ALMTs will be trained by a group of 8 Master Trainers comprised of Sudipta Bijoy Dutta Choudhury (Bapi), Sudarshan Gupta, Arunabha Bhattacharjee, Dr. Sudip Choudhury, Dr. Gongesh Bhattacharjee, Dr Apratim Nag, Saumitra Nath, Joydeep Paul and Sagarmoy Das. Moreover, Sudeep Nath, Circle Officer of Sonai also imparted training on COVID-19 guidelines. Further, training on Covid protocol was imparted by Dr. Kh. Gautam Singh and Dr. Nasmeena Laskar.

The Election Commission of India has not yet declared the poll dates but are expected to do so within this month. Assam is supposed to go for the assembly polls in the month of March-April, 2021.
