7 more Omicron cases detected in Assam, tally reaches 9: CM Assam

Jan. 7: At least seven more people, have tested positive for Omicron variant of coronavirus in Assam, taking the tally of the new strain to nine. Out of the 9 Omicron cases, 3 of them have been cured and discharged. Of the seven new Omicron patients, six have no travel history while one has come to Assam from a foreign country. The nine Omicron-positive patients include an Assam resident whose sample was collected in Meghalaya. This was stated by Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said this during a Press Meet held at the Conference Hall, CM Block, Janata Bhawan, Guwahati on 7 January, 2022.
