1,931 tests Covid-19 +ve in Assam on Thursday, 10 deaths registered

April 22: On Thursday, out of 73,428 tests, 1,931 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive. This is the highest single day total positive cases in the state in 2021. With this, the state tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 2,31,069. The positivity rate in the state is 2.63 percent. Kamrup (M) district registered 680 positive cases during the day. It needs mention here that on Wednesday, 1665 persons tested positive in Assam.
On Thursday, 398 patients were discharged in Assam. With this, a total of 2,17,991, patients got cured and were subsequently discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care centres across the state. This was confirmed in a tweet by NHM, Assam. The recovery rate in the state is 94.34%.

Further, during the day, 10 patients died in Assam due to COVID-19, the highest single day figures in the state this year. Out of the 10 deceased, 3 are from Kamrup metro, 2 from Karbi Anglong, 1 each from Barpeta, Dibrugarh, Sonitpur, Tinsukia and Karimganj. The death tally of the state stands at 1,160.
