Two new corona cases detected; tally rises to 3,321 in Hailakandi

Nov.5: Two fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from South Assam’s Hailakandi district on Thursday, taking the total tally to 3,321. Health authorities here disclosed that all the two positive cases have been detected under RT-PCR. Altogether 715 swab samples were taken on Thursday out of which 133 are under RT-PCR and 582 under RAT.

Altogether 1,928 cases have been found positive under RAT with over 50 per cent without travel history. 3,280 persons on being cured have been discharged from hospitals.The number of active cases is 18. Nine COVID-19 positive patients have breathed their last at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. 14 deaths at SMC&H have been declared as ‘non-COVID’ by the State level Death Audit Board.

10 COVID-19 asymptomatic persons are under home isolation. Of the 29,345 RT-PCR samples taken, 27,011 have tested negative. Swab results of 61 persons are awaited. Altogether 106108 swab samples were taken out of which 29,345 are under RT-PCR and 76,763 under RAT.
