Congress gives ticket to 10 candidates in Assam

March 14: With the Lok Sabha election bells ringing round the corner, political parties are busy in doing their last minute arithmetic and finalise tickets for the potential candidates. In Assam, the Central Screening Committee of the Congress finalized the tickets for 10 candidates for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections 2019.

The screening committee of the Congress, a few days ago, in its first meeting had already finalised the tickets for Sushmita Dev from Silchar and Gaurav Gogoi from Kaliabor. The other 8 candidates who were lucky to get the party’s (read Congress) tickets in the 2nd screening meeting are: sitting Rajya Sabha member Bhubaneswar Kalita from Mangaldoi, Pawan Singh Ghatowar from Dibrugarh, Pradyut Bordoloi from Nagaon, Biren Singh Engti from Diphu, Swarup Das from Karimganj and MGVK Bhanu from Tezpur.
