WhatsApp may ban your account if you violate its latest guidelines

November 27: WhatsApp has now become the life line of all. WhatsApp has taken the forte of personal communication to the next level where it allows you to share pictures, videos and has come up with many other interesting features including payment options. WhatsApp is by far the most popular Instant Instant Messaging (IM) platform in India.

But issues like Cyber bullying and Cyber crime are also on the rise across the globe and to take measures to counter these cyber crimes, WhatsApp has introduced new guidelines. So remember, if you do not abide by these guidelines, your WhatsApp account can be blocked or banned without you being informed or notified about it. So let us have a quick glance of the new terms and conditions which one should abide by while using WhatsApp:

  • Sending threatening, illegal, defamatory or obscene content (written or image) violates WhatsApp’s terms and conditions, and are grounds for an immediate ban.
  • Messages promoting violence against any person or group, or promoting violent crimes, can get you banned as well.
  •  Impersonating someone is a violation not just of WhatsApp’s terms and conditions, but also of law. Not only can you get banned from the messaging service, but you could also end up in prison. Just don’t do it.
  •  Bulk messaging or auto messaging, auto dialing can also lead to suspension of the account.
  • Any individual is liable to punishment for altering or modifying the WhatsApp application code.
  • Using WhatsApp to send viruses or malware to other users: WhatsApp also strictly prohibits sending viruses or malware to other users using its platform.
  • You can also be removed from WhatsApp, if too many users block you. This means that if too many users block you in a short span of time, chances are that you may end up losing your account.
  • Hacking in to the Whats App server or misuse of users personal data, can cause the WhatsApp account to be banned permanently.
  • WhatsApp also allows its users to report a contact or a group from their profile information. If WhatsApp finds their complaint legit, it holds the right to deactivate your account.
  • Unregulated participation in transferring unauthentic/ improper information which facilitates the execution of cyber-crime will also lead to the account to be banned.
