Interactive Session by ‘Opinion Movers’ at Ashirbad on 10 December

December 7: To commemorate the World Human Rights Day, social media group ‘Opinion Movers’ has organised an inter-active session at Ashirbad Marriage Hall (near District Library Auditorium) on 10 December, Monday at 6 in the evening. The various facets of human rights violation and allied matters will come up for discussion in this inter-active session.

However, the issue on which the prime discussion will take place is “Human Rights violation in the context of ‘D-voters & Detention camp.” The panelists who will enlighten the gathering with their wisdom includes Taimur Raja Choudhury, Halim Ahmed Choudhury, Kamal chakraborty, Snigdha Nath and Dipankar Ghosh. The session will be compered by Prof. Joydeep Biswas.

Dipak Sengupta, Arabindo Roy, Krishnendu Roy and Kamal Chakraborty on behalf of the social media group ‘Opinion movers’ have requested the kind presence of the people of this valley to this inter-active session. The organisers are of the view that in a time and space, when human rights are blatantly violated by the state machinery in the name of ‘D-voters’ and ‘Detention Camp’, it is pertinent to have a threadbare discussion on these issues and thereby enlighten the masses of their rights.

In this regard, it needs mention that ‘Opinion Movers’ on 3 November had organised one such inter-active session which was attended by a large section of the populace. The identity crisis of the people of Barak Valley in the context of the present political scenario was taken up for discussion. It was a welcome move which was appreciated by all.

The inter-active session to be held on 10 December (Monday) was earlier scheduled to be held ‘Silchar Sangeet Vidyalaya’ at Park Road. However, the organisers have informed that due to reasons best known to the Silchar Sangeet Vidyalaya authority, they refused to provide the said venue at the last moment. As such, now the session will be held at Ashirbad Marriage Hall (near District Library Auditorium) at the same date and time.
