Theft and burglary in Silchar: 21 habitual offenders arrested

way2barak, February 12: A special crackdown was conducted in the wee hours today to curb the rising incidents of theft and burglary in and around Silchar. The operation targeted various areas, including Rangirkhari, Rangpur, Malugram, Ghungoor, and NH, resulting in the arrest of 21 habitual offenders.

Under the close supervision of ASP (Crime) and the guidance of Hon’ble SP Cachar, Shri Numal Mahatta, three special teams were formed to lead the operation. Headed by DySP (Hq), DySP (S&I) and DySP (B) respectively, the teams comprised three inspectors, including TSI, along with other personnel. After receiving a thorough briefing on the operation, the teams

successfully conducted the special drive, resulting in the apprehension of 21 culprits from multiple locations.
