Six dead as boat capsizes in Srinagar’s Jhelum river

way2barak, April 16 : At least six people were killed and many went missing on Tuesday after a boat capsized in Jhelum river in Srinagar’s Gandbal area. A rescue operation has been launched and the State Disaster Response Force team has been deployed.

The deceased have been identified as Firdousa (30), Razia (18), Shabir (23), Gulzar (30), Tanvir and Mudasir, while three rescued people are undergoing treatment in hospital.

Some of the occupants of the boat were possibly students who cross the river by boat.
