NGO Udoy-er Pothe donates sports materials to Sonachara L.P. School

June 18: In order to make the world a better place to live, it’s not always necessary to take herculean steps. Sometimes little deeds of generosity may go a long way to bring in smile in the faces of the underprivileged. One such unique step was adopted by a Silchar based Non-Government Organisation (NGO), ‘Udoy-er Pothe.’

On Tuesday, the members of Udoy-er Pothe donated sports materials to No.980, Sonachara L.P. School. Far away from the urban landscape, the school is located in Katigorah constituency. To reach the small village lower primary school, one has to travel around two kms. from Chandranathpur Railway Station. The sports materials were sponsored by Ashim Bhattacharjee, an active member of NGO Udoy-er Pothe. The items of games and sports were handed over by them to Biswaraj Bhattacharjee, a TET qualified teacher, who at present is the Head Teacher in-charge of the school.

Speaking to way2barak, members of Udoy-er Pothe said, “The children who come to Sonachara L.P. School are all from very poor background. We thought that providing these young minds with items of sports would bring smile to their face. Our member Ashim Bhattacharjee donated sports materials for these children to play with.” They were all in praises about the Head Teacher in-charge Biswaraj Bhattacharjee. Though he joined in this school as a teacher just a few years ago, yet he has earned great popularity in the village for being a teacher of exceptional quality. Ashim Bhattacharjee said, “We are confident that we have handed over the sports materials to the right person, who loves and takes care of the students of his school from the core of his heart.”

It needs mention here that Udoy-er Pothe very recently collected left over food materials from the a house where there was a big party. They collected the food stuff and distributed the same among the poor and hungry people in and around Silchar Railway Station.
