NDA set for landslide victory, Mahagathbandhan sinks

way2barak, November 14: A stunning comeback for Nitish Kumar as counting begins for the Bihar Assembly elections, with initial numbers showing the ruling alliance comfortably crossing the majority mark while the INDIA bloc falls behind.
According to the Election Commission of India, the NDA has surged past the halfway mark of 122 seats, widening its lead over the Opposition’s Mahagathbandhan.
Based on leads from 243 constituencies, the NDA is ahead in 190 seats, with the Bharatiya Janata Party leading in 76 and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) ahead in 77. Chirag Paswan’s LJP (RV) is also showing strong performance, leading in 18 seats.
Before the voting began, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, “Just a few hours of waiting, and the good-governance government will return.”
