Assam University to Host International Seminar on Multidimensional Readings of Post-Independence Indian Society, Literature and Culture
সমাজ, সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির বহুমাত্রিক পাঠ বিষয়ক আন্তর্জাতিক আলোচনাচক্র আয়োজিত হচ্ছে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ২৪ জুন : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বাংলা বিভাগ আগামী ১২ ও ১৩ আগস্ট, ২০২৬ তারিখে “স্বাধীনতা-উত্তর ভারতের সমাজ, সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির বহুমাত্রিক পাঠ” শীর্ষক একটি আন্তর্জাতিক আলোচনাচক্রের আয়োজন করতে যাচ্ছে। দুই দিনব্যাপী এই আন্তর্জাতিক সেমিনারে ভারতসহ বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশের শিক্ষাবিদ, গবেষক, সাহিত্যিক, সংস্কৃতিচিন্তক, গবেষণার্থী এবং শিক্ষার্থীরা অংশগ্রহণ করবেন।

স্বাধীনতার পরবর্তী সময়ে ভারতীয় সমাজ, সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির বহুমাত্রিক পরিবর্তন, বিকাশ, সংকট ও সম্ভাবনার নানা দিককে কেন্দ্র করে এই আলোচনাচক্র অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। দেশভাগ ও উদ্বাস্তু সমস্যা, জাতীয়তাবাদ ও ধর্মনিরপেক্ষতা, নারী-অধিকার ও নারীবাদ, দলিত ও প্রান্তিক সাহিত্য, উত্তর-পূর্ব ভারতের সমাজ ও সংস্কৃতি, ভাষা-আন্দোলন, লোকসংস্কৃতি, অনুবাদ সাহিত্য, ভারতীয় সিনেমা, বিশ্বায়ন, প্রযুক্তি ও ডিজিটাল সমাজসহ সমকালীন নানা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় এই আলোচনাচক্রে আলোচিত হবে।

আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক রাজীব মোহন পন্থ এই আন্তর্জাতিক আলোচনাচক্রের প্রধান পৃষ্ঠপোষক হিসেবে সম্মতি প্রদান করেছেন। বাংলা বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান অধ্যাপক সুমন গুণ আলোচনাচক্রের সভাপতি হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করবেন। আলোচনাচক্রের সমন্বয়ক হিসেবে রয়েছেন অধ্যাপক রামাকান্ত দাস, অধ্যাপক রিন্টু দাস এবং অধ্যাপক বরুণজ্যোতি চৌধুরী।

আলোচনাচক্রটি হাইব্রিড পদ্ধতিতে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে, ফলে দেশ-বিদেশের অংশগ্রহণকারীরা সরাসরি কিংবা অনলাইনে অংশগ্রহণ করতে পারবেন। গবেষণাপত্র বাংলা, অসমিয়া, হিন্দি এবং ইংরেজি ভাষায় উপস্থাপন করা যাবে। নির্বাচিত গবেষণাপত্রসমূহ ISBN-সহ সম্পাদিত গ্রন্থে প্রকাশের পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে।

গবেষণাপত্রের সারসংক্ষেপ জমা দেওয়ার শেষ তারিখ ২৫ জুলাই, ২০২৬। গৃহীত সারসংক্ষেপের বিষয়ে অংশগ্রহণকারীদের ২৭ জুলাই, ২০২৬ তারিখে জানানো হবে। আগ্রহী গবেষক, শিক্ষক, গবেষণার্থী ও শিক্ষার্থীদের hodbengali.aus@gmail.com ই-মেইল ঠিকানায় তাঁদের সারসংক্ষেপ ও গবেষণাপত্র প্রেরণের জন্য অনুরোধ জানানো হয়েছে।

আয়োজকদের মতে, এই আন্তর্জাতিক আলোচনাচক্র স্বাধীনতা-উত্তর ভারতের সমাজ, সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতি সম্পর্কে নতুন চিন্তা, গবেষণা ও বৌদ্ধিক বিনিময়ের ক্ষেত্র তৈরি করবে এবং দেশ-বিদেশের গবেষকদের মধ্যে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একাডেমিক সংলাপ গড়ে তুলতে সহায়ক হবে।

Way2barak, June 24 : The Department of Bengali at Assam University is set to organize a two-day international seminar on “Multidimensional Readings of Post-Independence Indian Society, Literature and Culture” on August 12 and 13, 2026. The seminar is expected to bring together academicians, researchers, literary figures, cultural thinkers, research scholars and students from India and abroad.

The seminar will focus on the diverse transformations, developments, challenges and possibilities that have shaped Indian society, literature and culture in the post-Independence era. Discussions will cover a wide range of contemporary and historical themes, including Partition and refugee issues, nationalism and secularism, women’s rights and feminism, Dalit and marginal literature, society and culture of Northeast India, language movements, folk culture, translation studies, Indian cinema, globalization, technology and digital society.

The Vice-Chancellor of Assam University, Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, has consented to serve as the Chief Patron of the international seminar. Prof. Suman Gun, Head of the Department of Bengali, will chair the seminar. The coordinators of the event are Prof. Ramakanta Das, Professor Rintu Das and Prof. Barunjyoti Choudhury.
The seminar will be conducted in a hybrid mode, enabling participants from across the world to attend either in person or online. Research papers may be presented in Bengali, Assamese, Hindi and English. Selected papers will be considered for publication in an edited volume with an ISBN.

The last date for submission of abstracts is July 25, 2026. Authors will be informed about the acceptance of their abstracts on July 27, 2026. Interested researchers, teachers, research scholars and students have been invited to submit their abstracts and papers via email at hodbengali.aus@gmail.com.

According to the organizers, the international seminar will create a platform for fresh perspectives, scholarly research and intellectual exchange on post-Independence Indian society, literature and culture, while fostering meaningful academic dialogue among researchers from India and abroad.
