Assam CM Links Maa Shailaputri’s Strength to Orunodoi, Rs 1,250 for 37 Lakh Women

way2barak, October 11:  Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday extended his wishes to the people on the first day of Navratri. He drew a parallel between the strength of Maa Shailaputri and the financial security of women provided through the state government’s Orunodoi scheme.

Talking about the occasion in a post on X, the Chief Minister said, “On the first day of Navratri, we bow to Maa Shailaputri, daughter of the Himalayas. She stands for steadiness and strength, the firm ground on which every journey begins.”

“For lakhs of families in Assam, that firm ground is Orunodoi. Every month, more than 37 lakh women receive ₹1,250 directly in their bank accounts, with no middlemen in between. It pays for medicines, pulses, vegetables and the small needs that keep a household running with dignity…,” he added
