47 found +ve during rapid test in Silchar on Sunday with max no of 12 from Normal School centre

August 30: From 27 August, Rapid Antigen testing Centres in all the Municipal Wards of Silchar has started  functioning. These rapid centres were set up in the school premises. In the last four days (including 30 August), since the commencement of these 28 centres in Silchar, 1188 persons were tested, out of which 201 were detected as COVID-19 positive. The rest 987 were found negative. Out of the 201 positive cases, 141 were allowed home isolation, whereas 60 of them were admitted in hospitals.

On 27 August, 34 positive cases were detected out of the 233 tests conducted. 57 tested positive on 28 August, out of 349 number of rapid tests. On 29 August, the highest number of 63 persons tested positive out of 324 tests. 47 persons were found positive on 30 August, out of the 282 tests done during the day.

On Sunday, a total of 282 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done. There are 28 such testing centres in the Municipal area of Silchar. The centres remain open from 9.30 AM to 4.00 PM. The highest number of 12 positive cases were registered during the day from the Normal School Centre. 7 each positive cases were detected at Surya Kumar High School and T.T. College centres. Another 5 persons were found positive at Ramanuj Vidya Mandir Testing centre. 4 persons were found positive from Radhamadhab LP School. 3 more persons tested positive at Sreepally LP School. Further, 2 each from Cachar High School & Holy Cross School were also found positive during the day. Finally, 1 each positive cases on Sunday were detected from Swami Vivekananda Bahumukhi Vidyamandir, Radhamadhab Buniadi Patshala, Adharchand HS School and Chotelal Seth Institute, Nityamoyee LP School.

Further, not a single positive cases were detected from 13 centres in Silchar Municipal area. During the day, 31 positive cases detected during the day were allowed to go for home isolation out of the 47 total cases found. The rest 16 positive persons were admitted in the hospitals.

In the entire Cachar district on Sunday, a total of 703 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in Cachar district, out of which 84 persons were detected COVID-19 positive.
