Niramaya Conducted Meditation at Chess Academy to Build Calm, Focused Young Minds

Way2barak, August 3 : The Niramaya School of Yoga Education,an institution accredited by the Yoga Certification Board under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, and a member of the Indian Yoga Association, successfully launched a unique initiative titled “Mindful Moves” in collaboration with The Little Tree House Chess Academy.

The program was organized by the Little Tree House Chess Academy to integrate the principles of meditation and mindfulness into formal chess training, fostering mental clarity, concentration, and emotional resilience among young players.
The inaugural session was led by Shatakshi Bhattacharjee, Director of the Niramaya School of Yoga Education, who participated as the invited resource person. Through structured meditation and controlled breathing exercises, participating students were guided on methods to alleviate competition-related anxiety, sharpen focus, and maintain decision-making composure under pressure.

Highlighting the vision behind the collaborative effort, the organizers emphasized that a calm mind is essential for better strategic vision, composed performance during high-stakes moments, and a deeper overall appreciation of the sport.
Beyond building competitive prowess on the board, the initiative aims to support the broader development of emotionally grounded and confident young individuals.
Around 40 students participated enthusiastically in the opening event. Encouraged by the initial response, the Niramaya School of Yoga Education plans to conduct these sessions on a monthly basis as an ongoing part of the Chess Academy’s broader student development programs.
