way2barak, June 11: Congratulating Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving prime minister on Wednesday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said his leadership has driven reform, expanded opportunity and shaped the country’s development journey in the last 12 years.
Modi, who completed 12 years in service as PM on May 26, on Wednesday surpassed Jawaharlal Nehru’s record of holding the longest continuous tenure by an elected prime minister.
“History remembers milestones. Nations remember the leaders who shape them. Congratulations to Adarniya Shri @narendramodi Ji on becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister. Over the past 4,399 days, his leadership has driven reform, expanded opportunity and shaped India’s development journey,” Sarma said in a social media post.
In another post, he said, “NARENDRA MODI — the name that encompasses almost all major development which India has seen in the last 12 years. Today, as Adarniya @narendramodi ji becomes the longest serving elected Prime Minister of India, a day to be etched in the annals of history, we celebrate the achievements India has made in the last 12 years and take a firm resolve to realise his vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. My congratulations to Adarniya Pradhan Mantri Ji on this momentous occasion.” Modi is currently serving his third consecutive term as the prime minister.
