District-level project competition for PM SHRI schools held in Cachar

way2barak, March 15:– In a vibrant celebration of creativity and experiential learning, a district-level project competition for PM SHRI schools was successfully organised on thursday at Ellora Heritage Hall under the management of Samagra Shiksha, Cachar.
The initiative was aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and aimed at encouraging the practical implementation of project-based learning among students.
The competition brought together enthusiastic participation from students across PM SHRI schools of the district and was conducted in three academic categories Level I for classes III to V, Level II for classes VI to VIII, and Level III for classes IX to XII. Young participants presented innovative projects reflecting their understanding of scientific concepts, creativity and problem-solving abilities.
The programme was graced by a distinguished panel of academicians and educationists who served as chief guests and judges. Among them were Professor Himadri Sekhar Das, Head of the Department of Physics at Assam University, Dr Jaydeep Pal, Head of the Department of Chemistry at Guru Charan College, Dr Jibendu Dutta, Principal of DIET Cachar, Dr Aparna Bhattacharya, Principal of Teachers’ Training College; Rajshree Chakraborty, Senior Lecturer at DIET, Sharmistha Chowdhury, Senior Lecturer at DIET, Atanu Dev, retired Principal of Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School and currently Guest Faculty at Teachers’ Training College and Gautam Dev, District Programme Officer (TT). The event was also attended by Jayanti Pal, BEEO, Salchapra, and Nandini Mukherjee, BEEO, Sonai.
At the outset District Program Officer Gautam Dev (TT) delivered the welcome address highlighting the importance of nurturing curiosity and innovation among young learners. Professor Himadri Sekhar Das later addressed the students with an inspiring speech, encouraging them to pursue knowledge through exploration, experimentation and creative thinking. The panel of judges carefully evaluated the projects presented by students across the three categories before selecting the top performers.
T.he award distribution ceremony was held and the Students securing the first, second and third positions in each category were honoured with mementoes. In recognition of their participation and effort, every student who took part in the competition was presented with a medal, certificate and a school bag.
According to the results, in Level I the first position was secured by PM SHRI 664 Kukubari LPS, followed by PM SHRI 118 Irongmara LPS in second place and PM SHRI Saharjum Udaynagar LPS in third place. In Level II, PM SHRI Nehru HS School secured the first position, PM SHRI Bharakhai HS School came second and PM SHRI Narsing HS School stood third. In Level III, PM SHRI Raja GC Memorial School secured the first position, while PM SHRI Narsing HS School and PM SHRI Kashipur VP HS School secured the second and third positions respectively.
The programme anchored by Biplab Biswas, BRP, Udharbond, and Sandeepa Chakraborty, BRP, Silchar Urban. The overall coordination and management of the event were carried out by BRPs Nabarun Chakraborty, Dr Satyajit Das, Sabina Sultana Majumdar, Gopal Krishna Pal, Jaharul Majumdar, Biplab Das, Intaj Ali, Sairul Ahmed Barbhuiya, FLN Data Analyst Ferdousi Sultana Chowdhury, CRCC Kingshuk Bhattacharyya and Jayanta Pal, Assistant Nazir.
Manojyoti Kutum, ACS, Additional District Commissioner (Education) and District Mission Coordinator of Samagra Shiksha, Cachar, conveyed his greetings and best wishes for the successful conduct of the programme. Members of the judging panel also shared their valuable observations on the projects and offered encouraging guidance to the participating students. As a token of appreciation, Samagra Shiksha felicitated each member of the judging panel with a commemorative memento, while BRPs associated with the event were also honoured for their contribution.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Gautam Dev, District Programme Officer followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
