বিজেপিতে যোগ দিলেন অভিনেত্রী মৌসুমী চ্যাটার্জিActress Moushumi Chatterjee joins BJP, may contest 2019 Lok Sabha Polls
২০০৪ সালে তিনি কলকাতা উত্তরপূর্ব আসন থেকে কংগ্রেসের টিকিটে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা করেছিলেন। কিন্তু এই নির্বাচনে তিনি হেরে যান। তবে এটা আন্দাজ করা যায় যে, মৌসুমী চ্যাটার্জি পশ্চিমবঙ্গ থেকে এ বার ভোটে লড়বেন।
৭০ বছর বয়সী বিশিষ্ট বাঙালি অভিনেত্রী মৌসুমী চ্যাটার্জিকে ২০১৬ সালে শেষবার দেখা গিয়েছে সাড়া জাগানো পিকু ছবিতে। এতে এছাড়াও অভিনয় করেছেন অমিতাভ বচ্চন ও দীপিকা পাড়ুকোন। মৌসুমী বাংলা ও হিন্দি মিলিয়ে মোট ১০০টি ছবিতে অভিনয় করেছেন। তিনি বিশিষ্ট সঙ্গীতশিল্পী হেমন্ত মুখোপাধ্যায়ের ছেলে জয়ন্ত মুখোপাধ্যায়কে বিয়ে করেন। তাদের দুটি কন্যা সন্তান রয়েছে।
January 2: Ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections, veteran Bollywood actor and heartthrob of yesteryear’s, Moushumi Chatterjee on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the national capital. Moushumi joined BJP in presence of party national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, who is also the in-charge for West Bengal, and Mukul Roy.
In 2004, she had contested the national election as a Congress candidate in the Calcutta North-East constituency in 2004 but was defeated. It was also speculated that Mrs. Chaterjee might contest Lok Sabha polls from West Bengal.
The 70-year-old Bengali actor Moushumi Chatterjee who was last seen in 2016 blockbuster Piku, also starring Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, has worked in over 100 films in Hindi and Bengali language. She is married to Jayant Mukherjee (son of famous playback singer Hemant Kumar) and has got two daughters.
