With 109 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 528 on 31 May, 7 deaths registered

Active cases 3,304 in Cachar

May 31: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Monday at 11.10 PM. As per the latest data, 109 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 528 persons were found positive in the district on 31 May. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 419 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 3,304.

It needs mention here that till 6 PM on Sunday, 204 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar. However, the updated data, which was furnished by the District Media Expert every night after 10 PM was not provided to the media and hence the updated figure of Sunday was not possible to be published.

As per the updated data, a total of 7,858 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 419 persons were found positive, whereas 109 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases in 2021 reached 10,196 in 2021, whereas during the year, 6,793 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 3,304 active patients:

  • 285 of them are admitted at SMCH
  • 14 at MH
  • 42 at SMDCH
  • 43 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
  • 09 at CRPF Doyapur
  • 17 at Gracewell Nursing Home
  • 23 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
  • 20 at Valley Hospital
  • 21 at South City Hospital
  • 13 at Nightingale Hospital
  • 03 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
  • 31 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
  • 2,783 patients are in home isolation.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 30 May to 5 PM on 31 May) witnessed demise of 07 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), Green Heals Pvt Hospital and Cachar Cancer Hospital. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board.

The 03 deceased from Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) were identified as Taj Uddin Laskar (43) from Katigorah Part-III in Cachar district, Babul Ghosh (70) from Das Colony, Silchar and Amalendu Guha (78) from Nag Naha Lane, Silchar. The DDIPRO informed about another death at SMCH, but details about which was not available.

Apart from the 04 deceased at SMCH, another 02 persons died at Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (CCHRC) and 01 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital, Silchar. However, till the filing of this report, the details of the 02 deceased at CCHRC was not available. The patient who died at Green Heals Pvt Hospital is Girindra Debnath (80) from Panisagar in Tripura. The patient was admitted at Green Heals on 28 May and died at 5.45 PM on 31 May.
