DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta appointed Chairman of Police Recruitment Board of Assam

Sept. 29: In the midst of ongoing investigation into the leak of question paper for the examination of Sub Inspector’s job in the state, the Government of Assam has reconstituted the State Level Police Recruitment Board. State Director-General of Police (DGP), Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta was appointed as the new Chairman of the Police recruitment board of Assam.

Further, Harmeet Singh, Additional Director General of Assam Police (ADGP) was appointed as the new Member Secretary along with ADGP LR Bishnoi and Inspector General Hiren Nath as the members of the recruitment body. In a tweet on Tuesday, Assam Police wrote,”We are committed to ensuring that the recruitment process remains free and fair. No digressions will be tolerated.”
