Silchar man robbed of ₹20 lakh at gunpoint in Guwahati, FIR lodged

Feb. 21: In a tragic incident, a man from Silchar identified as Sanjay Biswas alleged that he has been robbed of Rs. 20 lakh at gunpoint in Guwahati on Monday. In this connection, Sanjay Biswas has filed an FIR at the Gorchuk Police Station and the police have now learnt to initiate an investigation into the matter.

As per reports, Sanjay Biswas came into contact with two persons identified by him as Sakib and Jiban who wanted to sell iron rods. Sanjay was assured that the duo would sell the rods at a much cheaper rate than it was available in the market. As a result, Sanjay fell into the trap. An amount of Rs.20 lakh was fixed for the deal. After getting convinced over telephonic conversation, Sanjay went to Guwahati to strike the deal.

On reaching Guwahati, he was asked to come near ISBT. There the duo with whom the deal was fixed came in a car. Sanjay Biswas was asked to get in and they drove to Mangaldai Sardar Chowk area of Guwahati. Sanjay then alleged that the duo robbed of Rs.20 lakh at gunpoint. After that, the accused Sakib and Jibon let him go. Being helpless, Sanjay Biswas lodged an FIR at Gorchuk Police Station.
