MP’s from Assam meets Nitin Gadkari, apprises him of dilapidated National Highways

July 10: Members of Parliament (MP’s) from Assam met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, at his New Delhi office on Wednesday. The delegation of MP’s from Assam which went to meet the Union Minister comprised of Rameshwar Teli, Pallab Lochan Das, Naba Kumar Sarania, Badruddin Ajmal along with Rajya Sabha MP and Congress’ State Chief Ripun Bora.

The delegation apprised Nitin Gadkari about the dilapidated condition of National Highways (NH) 15 and 37. NH-15 starts from Baihata Chariali to Jamuguri and another part from Jamuguri to Gohpur and NH-37 starts from Tinsukia-Jagun. Further, they also requested the minister to released funds for the repairment of Margherita to Ledo road and Dhubri-Phulbari bridge over Brahmaputra river between Assam and Meghalaya.

It was learnt that the Nitin Gadkari gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured them that he would instruct NHAI to look into the matter and release funds for this purpose within the next three months.
