Training sessions conducted for smooth conduct of counting processes in Cachar

way2barak, April 25: In a concerted effort to ensure a seamless and error-free vote counting for seven constituencies of Assam Legislative Assembly Elections 2026, the District Administration, Cachar, organised a series of intensive training and briefing sessions at the old conference halls of the DC office here on Thursday.
The initiative, held as part of the district’s comprehensive preparedness measures, was aimed at building the capacity of Tabulators, Transit Officers, and officials and staff entrusted with the vital responsibility of handling Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units. The sessions focused on ensuring procedural clarity, strict adherence to established election guidelines, and effective coordination.

A dedicated training session was also conducted wherein officials and staff engaged in EVM and VVPAT sealing, along with Tabulators and Transit Officers, were provided detailed hands-on guidance. The session was led by Master Trainer Shri Surajit Acharjee (ALMT), Resource Person Shri S. B. Dutta Choudhury, and Master Trainer Shri Arunabha Bhattacharjee (NLMT), who shared practical insights to enhance operational readiness.
Senior officials of the district administration, including District Development Commissioner, Cachar, Shri Rajib Roy, ACS, Additional District Commissioner, Shri Souvik Bhuyan, ACS, Election Officer, Masi Topno, ACS along with Assistant Commissioners, Circle Officers, and other senior functionaries, were also present at the session.
