State Govt disappointed with the cancellation of Japan PM’s Assam visit

way2barak, June 24: Minister Pijush Hazarika expressed disappointment over the cancellation of the proposed visit of the Prime Minister of Japan to Assam, alleging that “anarchic forces” do not want the state’s development.
Reacting to the cancellation of the Japanese Prime Minister’s proposed Assam visit, scheduled for July 1, Hazarika said the development was unfortunate and suggested that certain disruptive elements were opposed to the state’s progress.
“Anarchic forces do not want Assam’s development. It is extremely unfortunate,” the minister said.
His comments came amid discussions over the cancellation of the Japanese Prime Minister’s visit to Assam, which was expected to boost investment prospects and strengthen economic cooperation between Japan and the state.
The state government has expressed disappointment over the cancellation, particularly as extensive preparations had been undertaken in anticipation of the high-profile visit.
The minister, however, did not elaborate on the specific reasons behind his remarks or identify the groups he was referring to.
