জাতীয় নির্মাণে শিক্ষার ভূমিকা নিয়ে বিশেষ বক্তৃতা আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ২ এপ্রিল : ভারতীয় শিক্ষণ মণ্ডলের ৫৭তম প্রতিষ্ঠা দিবস উপলক্ষে বৃহস্পতিবার আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের রাষ্ট্রবিজ্ঞান বিভাগ ও ভারতীয় শিক্ষণ মণ্ডলের আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সমিতির যৌথ উদ্যোগে “জাতীয় নির্মাণে শিক্ষা” শীর্ষক এক বিশেষ বক্তৃতা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনায় সংগঠন গীত পরিবেশন করেন মৃন্ময় নাথ। এরপর নীলাক্ষী রায় ধ্যায় বাক্য ও ধ্যায় শ্লোক পাঠ করেন। উদ্বোধনী ভাষণে রাষ্ট্রবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের প্রধান ও বিএসএম-এভিভিএস-এর সাধারণ সম্পাদক অধ্যাপক দেবতোষ চক্রবর্তী বর্তমান শিক্ষাক্ষেত্রে এ ধরনের আলোচনার প্রয়োজনীয়তার ওপর গুরুত্ব আরোপ করেন। তিনি ভারতীয় শিক্ষণ মণ্ডলের লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য তুলে ধরে বলেন, দেশকেন্দ্রিক শিক্ষা ও গবেষণার প্রসারে সংগঠনটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করছে।

স্বাগত ভাষণ দেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আইকিউএসি-র পরিচালক ও বিএসএম-এভিভিএস-এর সভাপতি অধ্যাপক পীয়ুষ পাণ্ডে। তিনি একবিংশ শতাব্দীতে গবেষণার ক্রমবর্ধমান গুরুত্বের ওপর আলোকপাত করে বলেন, বিশ্বমঞ্চে ভারতের শক্তিশালী অবস্থান নিশ্চিত করতে উদ্ভাবনী, আন্তঃবিভাগীয় ও সমাজমুখী গবেষণার বিকাশ জরুরি। তিনি শিক্ষার্থী ও গবেষকদের জাতীয় অগ্রাধিকার ও বৈশ্বিক চ্যালেঞ্জের সঙ্গে সামঞ্জস্য রেখে কাজ করার আহ্বান জানান। মূল প্রবন্ধ উপস্থাপন করেন সংস্কৃত বিভাগের অধ্যাপক শান্তি পোখরেল।

অনুষ্ঠানের প্রধান অতিথি গুরুচরণ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য ও বিএসএম, দক্ষিণ আসাম প্রান্তের সভাপতি অধ্যাপক নিরঞ্জন রায় বলেন, পাশ্চাত্য দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি প্রায়শই ভারতের ঐতিহ্যবাহী মূল্যবোধকে বিকৃতভাবে উপস্থাপন করেছে। তিনি উল্লেখ করেন, ঔপনিবেশিক শাসন ও লর্ড ম্যাকলে প্রবর্তিত শিক্ষাব্যবস্থার ফলে ভারতের সমৃদ্ধ শিক্ষাধারা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে। তিনি আত্মনির্ভর ও প্রগতিশীল জাতি গঠনের জন্য ভারতীয় জ্ঞানভিত্তিক ঐতিহ্য পুনরুদ্ধারের ওপর জোর দেন এবং ‘বিকশিত ভারত ২০৪৭’-এর লক্ষ্য পূরণে যুবসমাজকে সক্রিয় ভূমিকা নেওয়ার আহ্বান জানান। শেষে ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করেন পদার্থবিদ্যা বিভাগের প্রধান ও বিএসএম-এভিভিএস-এর আয়োজক সম্পাদক অধ্যাপক হিমাদ্রি শেখর দাস।

Way2barak, April 2 : On the occasion of the 57th Foundation Day of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, a special lecture on the theme “Education in Nation Building” was organised on Thursday by the Department of Political Science, Assam University, in collaboration with the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal–Assam University Samiti (BSM-AVVS).

The programme began with the rendition of the organisational song by Mrinmoy Nath, followed by the recitation of the Dhyaya Vakya and Dhyaya Shloka by Nilakshi Roy. In his inaugural address, Head of the Department of Political Science and General Secretary of BSM-AVVS, Prof. Debatosh Chakraborty, emphasised the importance of such discussions in the contemporary education system. Highlighting the aims and objectives of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, he noted that the organisation plays a significant role in promoting nation-centric education and research.

The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Piyush Pandey, Director of IQAC, Assam University, and President of BSM-AVVS. He underscored the growing importance of research in the 21st century and stressed the need for innovative, interdisciplinary, and socially relevant research to strengthen India’s position on the global stage. He also urged students and researchers to align their work with national priorities and global challenges. The keynote paper was presented by Prof. Shanti Pokharel of the Department of Sanskrit.

Chief Guest Prof. Niranjan Roy, Vice-Chancellor of Gurucharan University and President of BSM, South Assam region, stated that Western perspectives have often misrepresented India’s traditional values. He pointed out that colonial rule and the education system introduced by Lord Macaulay had adversely affected India’s rich educational heritage. He emphasised the need to revive India’s knowledge-based traditions to build a self-reliant and progressive nation and called upon the youth to play an active role in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Himadri Shekhar Das, Head of the Department of Physics and Organising Secretary of BSM-AVVS.
