Silchar- Dharmanagar passenger train service to be restored from 4 January

Jan. 1: The Silchar- Dharmanagar passenger train service was discontinued after the outbreak of Covid-19 for a considerable period of time. Recently there has been demand from various quarters for restoration of this train service. Finally, General Manager (Operations) of North East Frontier Railway in a notification stated, “It has been decided to restore the services of Silchar- Dharmanagar Passenger as bi-weekly.

Train No. 05677 Silchar- Dharmanagar Passenger (Bi-weekly) from Silchar will resume service with effect from 4 January, 2022 on every Tuesday and Friday. Also, Train No. 05678 Dharmanagar- Silchar Passenger (Bi-weekly) from Dharmanagar will resume service with effect from 5 January, 2022 on Wednesday and Saturday. This train will depart from Silchar at 17.30 hours and from Dharmanagar, it will depart at 05.30 hours. The train will compose of eight compartments of general second class and two coaches of sleeper class.

The train will have stoppages at Arunachal, Salchapra, Katakhal, Panchgram, Badarpur, Rupasibari, Bhanga, Chargola, New Karimganj, Karimganj, Suprakandi, Nilambazar, Kayasthagram, Baraigram, Kanaibazar, Kalkalighat, Chandkhira, Bagan, Tilbhum and Nadiapur.
