Rising Chess Star Troyee Roy Brings Pride to Barak Valley

way2barak, June 9: The Little Tree House Chess Academy’s Young Prodigy Troyee Roy Becomes the Youngest Female FIDE-Rated Player of Barak Valley.
Born on 28th March 2018, Troyee Roy is a student of New Oxford School and joined The Little Tree House Chess Academy in 2025. From her very first introduction to the game, she demonstrated an exceptional interest in chess, coupled with a strong willingness to learn and improve. Her dedication, focus, and passion for the sport have enabled her to make rapid progress within a short span of time.
Troyee has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the youngest female FIDE-rated chess player from the Barak Valley region, attaining a FIDE Classical Rating of over 1500. This prestigious achievement is a reflection of her hard work, determination, and the continuous support and training provided by The Little Tree House Chess Academy and its mentors.

Under the specialized training, professional guidance, and dedicated mentorship of the academy’s coach Deep Das, Troyee has shown remarkable improvement in her game. Regular practice sessions, extra training classes, and a structured learning approach have played a significant role in shaping her competitive skills and overall development as a young chess player.
Further adding to her growing list of accomplishments, Troyee recently secured 3rd position in the Under-9 State Chess Championship held at Guwahati. Competing against some of the finest young players in the state, she showcased remarkable composure, strategic understanding, and competitive spirit.
Following her impressive performance at the state level, Troyee is now prepared to participate in the National Chess Championship, which is scheduled to begin from 6th July in Jharkhand.
The growing popularity of chess in Barak Valley reflects an increasing awareness among parents and educators about the importance of chess in developing concentration, critical thinking, patience, and decision-making skills in children.
