Day long SPARSH outreach camp in Silchar on Nov 28

Special support programme for ex-servicemen at Sainik Bhawan

way2barak, NOV 23:— In a significant initiative aimed at strengthening welfare services for former armed forces personnel, the Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA), Guwahati, will conduct a day-long SPARSH Outreach Programme at Sainik Bhawan, Silchar, on 28th November 2025, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

The outreach programme is designed to assist Ex-Servicemen of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with Veer Naris and widows, in resolving issues related to pension, documentation, and various SPARSH-linked services. Officials said the camp will offer a platform for direct interaction with defence accounts authorities, ensuring timely redressal of grievances and enhancing the transparency of pension-related processes.

Notably ,the initiative is part of the government’s broader push to ease access to welfare mechanisms for retired defence personnel, especially in regions with large veteran populations such as Barak Valley. With many beneficiaries facing challenges due to digital transition under the SPARSH system, the Silchar camp is expected to provide crucial handholding support.

The Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Cachar, has urged all eligible Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, and widows to participate and spread the information across the Barak Valley veteran community. The day-long engagement is anticipated to benefit numerous families who have served the nation with dedication.

This is stated in a press release issued by Regional office of Information & Public Relations Barak valley Zone Silchar Assam.
