New voters appreciated by Karimganj district administration

April 25: As per the instruction of the Election Commission of India, Returning Officers of every district of India took keen interest in spreading voters awareness among the people, especially the new voters were inspired to cast their precious vote during the Lok Sabha Election 2019.

Karimganj district administration too joined this campaign of increasing voters awareness along with the rest of the country. As a result of the efforts made by the district administration, a total of 73.15% votes were polled at Karimganj (Male – 68.43% and Female including Third Gender – 78.27%). The highest vote casting took place at Patharkandi LAC where 80.61% voters exercised their franchise.

In order to appreciate the first time voters, the Karimganj district administration organised an appreciation event at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Karimganj district in Assam. During the event, Deputy Commissioner of Karimganj M S Manivannan distributed prizes in the category of best selfies taken by the first time voters after exercising their franchise in the Lok Sabha elections. Further, prizes were also distributed among 85 first time voters.
