GOAL! France leads 1-0 at half time against Morocco in the FIFA World Cup semi-final

Hernandez scores to put France in the lead

way2barak, Dec.14: What a strike! France are in the lead early in the game. And Morocco conceded their first goal to an opponent in the tournament. Griezmann slipped El Yamiq on the right and crossed towards Mbappe. Mbappe had two shots blocked from the penalty area but the ball ricocheted towards Hernandez at the far post. Hernandez shot the bouncing ball past both Morocco keeper Bono and scored the 1st goal against Morocco at the 5th minute in the FIFA World Cup 2022 second semi-final.

They’re leading, and deservedly so, but France don’t always look entirely comfortable whenever Morocco – roared on by that massive, noisy support – surge forward. The Atlas Lions’ fans can sense their team still have a chance in this match and they’re doing their level best to encourage every positive passage of play.

Theo Hernandez’s goal, after four minutes and 39 seconds, was the earliest scored in a World Cup semi-final since Vava for Brazil against France in 1958.

The 2nd semi-final is now played between between France and Morocco at Al Bayt Stadium, Al Khor, 12:30 AM IST on 15 December. The final of the FIFA World Cup 2022 will be played on Sunday (December 18) at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail.
