Highest COVID-19 infected in India belongs to the age group of 21 to 40 years

April 5: Though India has not yet reached the community level transmission of coronavirus, but the numbers are rapidly increasing. India has crossed the 3000 mark as regards to COVID-19 positive patients, while the fatal cases are fast approaching towards a century. It is in this stage that during the media briefing on Saturday, bureaucrat Lav Agarwal revealed age groups of coronavirus cases reported in India till Saturday afternoon.The media briefing revealed the following break up:

  • 9% cases are between 0 to 20 years of age.
  • 42% cases are between 21 to 40 years of age.
  • 33% cases are between 41 to 60 years of age.
  • 17% cases are above 60 years of age.
