Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrated in befitting manner at Manas National Park & Tiger Reserve

Oct.4: Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was observed in a befitting manner at Bansbari range of Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve in Chirang district under BTAD on Monday. The event focused on tiger conservation and creating extensive awareness on collaborative efforts on conservation of the big cats.

Minister for Environment and Forest, Fisheries and Excise, Parimal Suklabaidya inaugurated the event in the presence of CEM, BTC, Pramod Boro, EM (Forest), BTAD, Vice Chairman, AIDC, SP, DC, Chirang, Field Director, Manas Tiger Project and CHD (Forest).


Minister Suklabaidya emphasised on conservation of nature and ecosystem. He also heaped praises on the tremendous efforts put by BTC authorities to save nature and to usher in development of BTC. A Rally on Wheels – India for Tigers – coinciding with the event – comprising participants from different tiger reserves of North Eastern States – arrived at the park to take part in the celebrations. A coffee table book on Manas NP&TR was also released by Minister Suklabaidya on the occasion.
