Explosives Recovered In Guwahati Railway Station, investigation on

February 4: A huge quantity of explosives were recovered by the Guwahati Railway Police (GRP) on Monday morning from Guwahati Railway Station. The explosives were first spotted during routine check by the GRP in Platform No. 3.

At that time, the Up Avadh Assam Express was there in that platform. Bags containing 440 pieces gelatin sticks in 22 packets, detonators 700 pieces in seven packets, fuse wire three bundles were recovered.

The recovery of such huge quantity of explosives in Platform No.3 raises the suspicion of the GRP. They then decided to carry on search inside the Avadh Assam Express. Their suspicion proved correct when another bag was recovered by them from near the the toilet of AC 2 tier coach of the train. On opening the bag, 160 pieces of gelatin sticks in eight packets, detonators 500 pieces in five packets were recovered. The said operation was carried on by Jagiroad GRP-OP staff.
