Emanuel wins Gauri Shankar Football Tournament

February 24: In an exciting final, Emanuel Football Club defeated Moinagor Auwa Sports Club by 1-0 and became the champion of Gauri Shankar Roy Memorial Prize Money Football Tournament at Dudpatil football ground.

It was indeed a very exciting match and spectators were all glued to their seats on Sunday afternoon till the last moment.

The Football Tournament was organised by ‘Azmir Hussain Fans Club’ at Dudpatil, Cachar under Borkhola constituency. A large number of spectators were present in the ground to witness the final match. MP Sushmita Dev also witnessed the last leg of the match.

Later on prizes were distributed by Ms. Dev. While speaking during the prize distribution ceremony, Sushmita Dev said, “The organisers of this Football tournament definitely deserves a lot of credit for organising such type of sporting events in the rural area.” She assured full cooperation in order to promote games and sports at the village level.

The prize distribution ceremony was also graced by Secretary APCC Sanjeev Roy, Gen Secy DCC Silchar Rajesh Deb, Referee Secretary DSA Silchar Tapan Das, U-19 International Footballer Azmir Hussain, Samsul Haque Barbhuiya, Abdul Aziz, Joynal Uddin Talukdar among others.
