National Workshop on Women’s Rights through Ambedkarite Perspective Concludes at Assam University
আম্বেদকর ভাবনায় নারী অধিকার নিয়ে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে জাতীয় কর্মশালা সম্পন্ন

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১৮ অক্টোবর : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড. আম্বেদকর চেয়ারের উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত তিন দিনের জাতীয় কর্মশালা ‘আম্বেদকরের দৃষ্টিকোণ থেকে নারী অধিকার ও আন্দোলন’ গতকাল শেষ হয়েছে। অনলাইনে আয়োজিত এই কর্মশালার সহায়তায় ছিল সেন্ট্রাল ইউনিভার্সিটি অব পঞ্জাব, মধ্যপ্রদেশের ড. হরিসিংহ গৌর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ও পাটনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড. আম্বেদকর চেয়ার।

এই কর্মশালায় দেশের ১৫টি রাজ্য থেকে প্রায় ১০০ জন অংশগ্রহণকারী অংশ নেন, যার মধ্যে ছিলেন স্নাতক, স্নাতকোত্তর ছাত্রছাত্রী, গবেষক ও বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষকরা। কর্মশালার মূল উদ্দেশ্য ছিল ড. আম্বেদকরের সমাজনৈতিক ও সাংবিধানিক ভাবনার আলোকে নারীর অধিকার, মর্যাদা ও ক্ষমতায়ন নিয়ে আলোচনা ও বিশ্লেষণ করা।

উদ্বোধনী অধিবেশনে স্বাগত ভাষণ দেন অধ্যাপক দেবতোষ চক্রবর্তী ও সহকারী অধ্যাপক ড. মৌমিতা নাথ। উপাচার্য প্রফেসর রাজীব মোহন পন্থ কর্মশালার বিষয়বস্তুর তাৎপর্য তুলে ধরেন ও সকল অংশীদার প্রতিষ্ঠানকে অভিনন্দন জানান। উদ্বোধনী বক্তব্য পেশ করেন সেন্ট্রাল ইউনিভার্সিটি অব পঞ্জাবের ড. আম্বেদকর চেয়ারের চেয়ার প্রফেসর কানহাইয়া ত্রিপাঠি।

কর্মশালায় অন্য বক্তাদের মধ্যে ছিলেন প্রফেসর খগেন্দ্র কুমার ও ড. দীপ নারায়ণ কুমার (পাটনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়), ড. অশ্বিনী কুমার ও ড. অপূর্বা চৌধুরী (সেন্ট্রাল ইউনিভার্সিটি অব পঞ্জাব), ড. দেবেন্দ্র বিশ্বকর্মা (ড. হরিসিংহ গৌর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) প্রমুখ।

সমাপনী অধিবেশনে কর্মশালার সারসংক্ষেপ উপস্থাপন করেন গবেষক বিশাল দাস। প্রাসঙ্গিক বক্তব্য রাখেন ভারপ্রাপ্ত উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক অশোক কুমার সেন। বলেন, এটি ছিল “অত্যন্ত ফলপ্রসূ ও বৌদ্ধিকভাবে সমৃদ্ধ আয়োজন”। অনুষ্ঠানের শেষে কর্মসূচির সমন্বয়ক ড. মৌমিতা নাথ ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করেন।

Way2barak, 18 October : A Three-Day National Workshop on ‘Women’s Rights and Movements through Ambedkar’s Perspective’, organized by the Dr. Ambedkar Chair, Assam University, Silchar, concluded with great success. The online workshop, held from October 15 to 17, was conducted in collaboration with the Dr. Ambedkar Chairs of the Central University of Punjab (Bathinda), Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya (Sagar, Madhya Pradesh), and Patna University (Patna).

The event drew participation from around 100 delegates, including undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars, and faculty members from 15 states across India—among them Assam, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Punjab.

The workshop aimed to explore Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of gender equality, social justice, and human rights, with a particular focus on his philosophy concerning women’s rights and empowerment. Over the course of three days, discussions and lectures covered a wide range of themes: Foundations of Ambedkar’s Thought and Vision for Women (Day 1), Ambedkar, Constitutionalism, and Legal Rights of Women (Day 2), and Women’s Movements, Contemporary Challenges, and Ambedkarite Solutions (Day 3).

The inaugural session featured welcome remarks by Prof. Debotosh Chakraborty, Chair Professor (i/c), and Dr. Maumita Nath, Assistant Professor, Dr. Ambedkar Chair, Assam University. Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, Vice-Chancellor of Assam University, graced the occasion and emphasized the contemporary relevance of Ambedkar’s ideas in advancing gender justice. Prof. Kanhaiya Tripathi, Chair Professor, Dr. Ambedkar Chair, Central University of Punjab, delivered the inaugural address, commending the Assam University team for conceptualizing the ‘noble academic initiative’.

Distinguished speakers included Prof. Khagendra Kumar and Dr. Deep Narayan Kumar (Patna University), Dr. Ashwani Kumar and Dr. Apoorva Chaudhary (Central University of Punjab), Dr. Devendra Vishwakarma (Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya), and Prof. Debotosh Chakraborty and Dr. Maumita Nath (Assam University).

During the valedictory session, Mr. Bishal Das, Doctoral Fellow, Assam University, presented a detailed summary of the proceedings. Prof. Asoke Kumar Sen, Vice-Chancellor (in-charge) of Assam University, lauded the Dr. Ambedkar Chair for ‘organizing an engaging and intellectually enriching programme.’ Reflections were shared by Prof. Tripathi, Dr. Vishwakarma, Dr. Ashwani, Dr. Deep Narayan, and Dr. Chaudhary, who all appreciated the successful inter-chair collaboration.
