ওয়ে টু বরাক, ২৮ আগস্ট : ভারতরত্ন ড. বি আর আম্বেদকরের দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি ও অবদান সম্পর্কে সচেতনতা ছড়িয়ে দেওয়ার লক্ষ্যে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড. বি আর আম্বেদকর চেয়ারের উদ্যোগে বিবেকানন্দ কেন্দ্র বিদ্যালয় (ভিকেভি), বড়জালেঙ্গায় বৃহস্পতিবার এক ইন্টারেক্টিভ প্রোগ্রামের আয়োজন করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনা হয় ড. আম্বেদকরের প্রতিকৃতিতে পুষ্পার্ঘ্য অর্পণের মাধ্যমে। শ্রদ্ধার্ঘ্য নিবেদনের পর ভিকেভি-এর অধ্যক্ষ পার্থ সারথী দেব অতিথিদের স্বাগত জানান। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান বক্তা হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ড. বি আর আম্বেদকর চেয়ারের সহকারী অধ্যাপক ড. মৌমিতা নাথ।

ড. নাথ ড. আম্বেদকরের জীবন, সংগ্রাম ও সাফল্যের বিভিন্ন দিক তুলে ধরেন। তিনি ভারতীয় সংবিধান প্রণয়নে তাঁর অসামান্য ভূমিকা, জাতিগত বৈষম্যের বিরুদ্ধে তাঁর দীর্ঘ সংগ্রাম এবং শিক্ষা ও সমতার প্রসারে তাঁর নিরলস প্রচেষ্টার ওপর আলোকপাত করেন। তিনি জোর দিয়ে বলেন, ড. আম্বেদকরের আদর্শ আজও সমানভাবে প্রাসঙ্গিক, বিশেষত তরুণ শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য, যারা দেশের ভবিষ্যৎ। অনুষ্ঠানে নবম ও দশম শ্রেণির শিক্ষার্থীরা সক্রিয়ভাবে আলোচনায় অংশ নেয়। বক্তৃতার পাশাপাশি ড. আম্বেদকরের জীবন-যাত্রা নিয়ে একটি তথ্যচিত্র প্রদর্শিত হয়।

অনুষ্ঠানে সম্মানিত অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের পদার্থবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের প্রধান অধ্যাপক হিমাদ্রি শেখর দাস। তিনি বিদ্যালয় পর্যায়ে আয়োজিত এ ধরনের উদ্যোগের প্রশংসা করেন। তিনি তরুণ শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে সামাজিক মূল্যবোধ, ন্যায়বিচার ও সমতা নিয়ে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরেন। অনুষ্ঠানে গবেষক বিশাল দাসও উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

ভিকেভি-এর শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকাদের মধ্যে মৌসুমি পুরকায়স্থ ও বৈশালী নাথ প্রমুখ উপস্থিত ছিলেন। তাঁরা কমিউনিটি আউটরিচ ও ছাত্রকেন্দ্রিক কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে আম্বেদকরের উত্তরাধিকারকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রচেষ্টার প্রশংসা করেন। ড. আম্বেদকরের চিন্তাভাবনা ও আদর্শের অধ্যয়ন ও প্রসারের উদ্দেশ্যে প্রতিষ্ঠিত আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড. বি. আর. আম্বেদকর চেয়ার শিক্ষার্থী, গবেষক ও সাধারণ সমাজের সঙ্গে সংযুক্ত হয়ে নানা একাডেমিক ও আউটরিচ কার্যক্রম চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে। ভিকেভি বড়জালেঙ্গায় আয়োজিত এই অনুষ্ঠান সেই ধারাবাহিকতায় আরও একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ হিসেবে চিহ্নিত হল।

Way2barak, August 28 : The Dr. B R Ambedkar Chair of Assam University organized an interactive programme on the life and works of Bharat Ratna Dr. B R Ambedkar at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Borjalenga, with the aim of inspiring students and spreading awareness about the great leader’s vision and contributions to modern India.

The programme commenced with the offering of floral tributes to the portrait of Dr. Ambedkar, symbolizing respect to the Father of the Indian Constitution and a tireless champion of social justice. Following this, Partha Sarothi Deb, Principal of VKV, welcomed the guests and felicitated Dr. Maumita Nath, Assistant Professor at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Chair, Assam University, who was the keynote speaker, and Bishal Das, Research Scholar of the Chair.

Dr. Nath delivered an engaging lecture on the life, struggles, and achievements of Dr. Ambedkar. She highlighted his pivotal role in framing the Indian Constitution, his relentless fight against caste discrimination, and his efforts in promoting education and equality. She emphasized that Dr. Ambedkar’s ideas remain deeply relevant even today, especially for young students who represent the future of the nation.

Students of Classes IX and X actively interacted with Dr. Nath, posing thoughtful questions and sharing their reflections on Ambedkar’s teachings. Their enthusiastic participation reflected a genuine curiosity to learn from the life and philosophy of one of India’s greatest reformers. To supplement the lecture, a documentary video showcasing Dr. Ambedkar’s journey was screened, leaving a lasting impression on the students.

The programme was further enriched by the presence of Prof. Himadri Sekhar Das, Head of the Department of Physics, Assam University, who graced the event as Guest of Honour. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Das appreciated the initiative of the Ambedkar Chair in reaching out to schools and fostering awareness among young learners about social values, justice, and equality. The event was also attended by VKV faculty members, including Moushumi Purkayastha and Baishali Nath.
