District Health Society felicitates health achievers 

way2barak, Aug 9:  In a groundbreaking achievement that reflects the rising standards of healthcare in Cachar district, several of its healthcare institutions have received national recognition for their exemplary performance across various sectors. Notably, seven health centers have been awarded the esteemed National Quality Assurance Certification, and S.M. Dev Civil Hospital has been lauded for meeting the rigorous criteria of the Labor Room Quality Improvement Initiative. Furthermore, the Blood Center at Silchar Civil Hospital has set a historic precedent as the first and only blood center in the entire North Eastern states to attain accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH).

To commemorate these significant milestones, the Cachar District Administration, in collaboration with the District Health Society, hosted a grand felicitation ceremony at the Silchar Medical College & Hospital auditorium here  on Friday.
The event celebrated the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of doctors, nurses, and non-medical officers who were instrumental in achieving these milestones within government healthcare institutions. Additionally, the ceremony recognized individuals and institutions, both public and private, for their selfless contributions, including blood donation and support to TB patients under the “Nikshay-Mitra” initiative.
Delivering in his keynote address, Cachar District Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha expressed immense pride in the district’s healthcare achievements. “These accolades are a testament to the relentless efforts of our healthcare professionals and the unwavering commitment of the District Health Society. We have set a new benchmark in healthcare excellence, not just for Cachar but for the entire North East. Our objective is to continue striving for excellence and to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to all,” he remarked.
Talking at the event, Additional District Commissioner In-Charge of Health, Dr. Khaleda Sultana Ahmed, underscored the importance of collaboration and innovation in reaching these achievements. “Our success is built on teamwork, dedication, and the pursuit of continuous improvement. We are not only meeting national standards but setting new ones. The NABH accreditation of the Blood Center is a historic achievement and a proud moment for all of us in Cachar,” she added.
Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the significance of quality assurance in elevating patient care.
 “The national recognition of our healthcare institutions reflects the high standards we uphold. We will continue to work tirelessly to maintain and exceed these standards, ensuring that our patients receive the best care possible,” he affirmed.
Earlier, Joint Director of Health Services, Dr. Ashutosh Barman, delivered the welcome address, elaborating on the initiatives undertaken by the National Health Mission (NHM) and the District Health Society. District Project Manager, Rahul Ghosh also explained the objectives and purpose of the occasion. Later, DC Rohan Kumar Jha handed over the awards and the certificates to the health achievers of cachar district.
It is pertinent to mention here that this ceremony was not only a celebration of achievements but also a call to action for continued excellence and innovation in healthcare within Cachar, setting the stage for future milestones in the region.
The event was also graced by the presence of Assistant Commissioner Jonali Devi, Superintendent of Assam Cancer Foundation, DIG of Medical FTR Hospital, BSF, DIG CRPF, Dayapur, and other distinguished officials.
